This week we have been filming at Carnoustie Golf Links on the Championship Course in Angus, Scotland. The course is one of the venues in The Open Championship rotation and will host the 147th event in July 2018.
Aerial Drone Promotional Video
Rising View provided aerial drone photography and video of the Championship Course at Carnoustie Golf links for use on their website, social media and also for a looping video for the golf centre.
We provide this flyover hole by hole video service for any golf course in the United Kingdom and have filmed at many golf courses in Scotland including The Old Course St Andrews, Kingsbarns Golf Links, Fairmont St Andrews and also for the television for The European Tour for IMG which was shown on SKY TV.
How We Filmed
To capture each of the holes we used aerial drone filming to get a “golf ball view” of each hole. Rising View Ltd is licenced and insured drone operator with permission for commercial operation from the Civil Aviation Authority. We carried out a number of risk assessments and had a team of people with us as spotters and filmed when the course was closed.
Aerial Photography
By using drones we were able to show off the fairway, hole placement and club house to create a unique birds eye view from above the course. It even shows the surrounding area, access roads and car parking so that visitors will be familiar with the area before they visit.
Hole by Hole Videos
As well as the promotional video showing off all 18 holes we produced a unique video for each of the 18 individual holes from high above the fairway. Each video is customised with golf course name, branding, hole information and set to music with a professional voice-over which will engage and inform viewers.
You can see all 18 flyover videos on the project page here.
Golf Filming
Rising View are experienced in filming at Golf Courses having previously done hole-by-hole aerial flyovers for courses such as Downfield Golf Club, Balumbie Castle Golf Club and Forbes of Kingennie Golf Course.
Previously we have done aerial drone filming for the European Tour, IMG and also for the Alfred Dunhill Cup which is played on the world famous Scottish courses at St Andrews Old Course, Carnoustie Championship Course and Kingsbarns Golf Links.

The 147th Open at Carnoustie
Golf has been played at Carnoustie since the 16th century and its earned a reputation as one of the toughest golf destinations in the world.
Strong winds are common on the exposed stretch of the Angus coast and the multiple bunkers are perfectly positioned to capture your ball unless you have a perfect shot on the very long and narrow course which at 7421 yards is the longest of any of the Open venues.
Previous winners of The Open at Carnoustie Championship Course

The Open Trophy
The Open Trophy or the Claret Jug to use its proper name was on display at Scotscraig Golf Club for participants of an event that Rising View filmed a promotional video for back in 2017 with the Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce. The Royal and Ancient Golf Club had kindly brought it along for the day and also done a talk about the upcoming Open Championship held in Carnoustie Golf Links in 2018. Below you can see Dale Summerton, Director of Rising View Ltd with the trophy.
