What types of crash can the DJI Spark Mini Drone Handle?
If you are thinking about buying a DJI Spark Mini Drone and are worried about crashing and what damage may happen then we have all the answered covered. This is a common worry about drones and how much crash damage they can take. In the below video below the DJI Spark was intentionally crashed into a tree multiple times and dropped to the ground but surprisingly there was very little damage and the drone functioned perfectly.
Can the DJI Spark Mini Drone Fly in the Rain?
On paper the DJI Spark mini drone is not supposed to be operated in the rain, however what happens if you were out flying and it started raining, would you manage to bring the drone back safe? In the below video the DJI Spark is flown in some heavy rain and it flew perfectly fine until the battery run out, so the answer is YES it can fly in the rain however it is not recommended.
Can the DJI Spark Mini Drone Fly in High Winds?
The other type of weather rather than rain that is the enemy of drones is wind. The DJI Spark mini drone can fly comfortably in winds up to around 12mph. Any higher then it will be unstable footage and gusts may blow it away. This is good performance for the size and price of the drone however its nowhere near as good as the performance of a DJI Inspire 2, DJI Inspire 1 or DJI Phantom 4 drones.
Can the DJI Spark Mini Drone Carry Anything?
The DJI Spark drone is not designed to carry objects however in the below video this was put to the test. The drone could not carry very much weight at all without it being very unstable or not being able to fly at all.
Mobile Charging Station Accessory for DJI Spark Mini Drone
A must have accessory for the DJI Spark mini drone is the mobile charging station. This station can charge up to 3 batteries, one inside the drone and another 2 spare batteries and its totally wireless so you can take it with you while you fly your drone. The charger will first charge the battery in the drone then will charge the next battery with the most charge first. There is LED indicators to show which battery is being charged. Another feature is that it can charge any other USB device such as mobile phones or tablets. It will take approx 36 mins per battery.
You can purchase the charging station from DJI direct here.
Would we recommend the DJI Spark Mini Drone?
Yes the DJI Spark drone is worth the money but it depends on what you want to get out of the drone. This is more suited to the first time drone user or hobbyist. If you are looking for more flight time, better image quality and use in more windy weather then you would be better investing in a DJI Phantom or DJI Inspire series drones. They do cost more but in the long term it will be worth it. But if you really need portability and cheaper price over image quality then this is the drone for you.
