This is an event video for University of Dundee who were celebrating the 50th Anniversary with various events in 2017.

Rising View were asked to capture a live event of 50 students climbing the Law, Dundee. We provided aerial photography, aerial video and also streamed live directly to 50,000 followers on the University of Dundee Facebook account.

The purpose of the aerial photography was to capture the event for people who could not attend as over the years the University has had tens of thousands of students who now live all around the world. This was then to be edited and used on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and their own website to showcase the project.

The Live stream directly onto their Facebook account means that people from around the world were able to virtually attend the event in real time. They were able to comment and the University were able to interact with them live to give a more inclusive insight to the event.

Drone photography can really help to capture the spirit of your promotion. Viewing from above gives the video a fresh perspective and allows angles that aren’t possible using traditional photography.

Note

You’ve probably heard or read a lot in the press about unlicensed, unapproved drone operators that work without insurance or due care and attention; employing one of these companies is dangerous and potentially illegal. All UK pilots must have a BNUC-S or RPQ-S qualification, CAA Permission for Aerial Work and Public Liability insurance. Protect yourself and ask the operator if you are unsure, any approved operator should be happy to show you his ID, and approvals. We are.
